Eigenfocus PRO Edition - Self-Hosted

đź‘‹ Hello, self-hoster enthusiast

Last updated: 23, April 2025

Thanks for putting your trust in Eigenfocus. We’re excited to be part of your workflow!

These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply to the PRO Edition Self-Hosted version of Eigenfocus (the “Software”), distributed by SoftVoid, LLC (“Company”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). By purchasing, downloading, or using the Software, you (“you”, “your”, or “Licensee”) agree to these terms.

If you have any questions about these Terms, feel free to email us at [email protected]. We’re happy to help.

License Grant

When you purchase a license, you're getting a perpetual, non-exclusive, and non-transferable right to install and use the Software on a single system — either for yourself or within an organization.

One license allows you to run a single active instance for everyday use. You’re also free to create additional instances for purposes like development or testing as long as they’re not used for regular day-to-day operations.

Non-Transferability

This license is non-transferable. You may not assign, sublicense, sell, rent, lease, lend, or otherwise transfer the Software or any rights granted herein to any third party.

How You’ll Receive It

The Software is distributed as a Docker container image. This container image is covered under the same license terms as this agreement.

You may run the image on your own infrastructure or private cloud services (e.g., AWS, GCP) for your internal use.

What You Can’t Do (Distribution Restrictions)

To keep things fair, there are a few things you’re not allowed to do:

  • Share or publicly post the Docker image or any part of the Software.

  • Include the Software in another product or service that’s resold, sublicensed, or redistributed.

  • Sell or market access to the Software on its own, or rebrand it as your own product.

  • Use the Software to build another product — especially if it’s a cloud-based or hosted product — even if you don’t directly redistribute the code or image.

Using the Software as Part of Your Services

Yes — you’re welcome to use the Software as part of the services you provide (like consulting, client portals, coaching programs, or internal tools), with a few clear boundaries:

  • Your clients or partners can access the interface to interact with your service — but they don’t get rights, ownership, or direct control over the Software or Docker image.

  • You control the environment where the Software is hosted and how it’s used.

  • The license remains with you — it can’t be transferred, resold, or sublicensed.

  • The Software should be a tool that supports the service you provide — not the main thing you're selling. (For example, using it to run your client's projects is great; selling access to Eigenfocus itself isn’t.)

  • You're not charging directly for the Software or offering it as a white-labeled/hosted solution.

TL;DR: You can absolutely use Eigenfocus to power your client-facing services. Just don’t resell, rebrand, or package it as your own product.

Product State and Updates

When you buy the Software, you're getting it as it is at the time of purchase. We do plan to keep improving it — adding new features and evolving it over time — but updates aren’t guaranteed and may change, be added, or discontinued at any time. Any updates will follow the Terms in effect when they’re released.

Installation and Maintenance

Since you’re self-hosting, you’re in full control — and that includes responsibility for installing, configuring, running, and maintaining the Software on your own systems. We do not guarantee compatibility with specific environments or custom setups.

You’re also in charge of securing your deployment. That means managing user access, encrypting sensitive data, setting up backups, and applying updates. We can’t be held responsible for any data loss, breaches, or other issues resulting from how you host or operate the Software.

No Refunds

All sales are final. That includes cases where:

  • The Software doesn’t fit your setup
  • You didn’t get the updates you were hoping for
  • The price changes after your purchase

We recommend trying our cloud version first if you’re unsure about the features provided.

Taxes

You’re responsible for any taxes, duties, or government fees related to your purchase — unless otherwise noted during checkout.

No Warranty

The Software is provided "as is" — with no warranties of any kind, express or implied. That includes warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or any guarantees that it’ll meet your specific needs.

You assume all risks related to using the Software.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law:

  • We’re not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages — even if you warned us they might happen.
  • If something does go wrong, our total liability is capped at the amount you paid for the Software.

Support

Support, onboarding, and updates are not included with the purchase of the Software. Any support services, if offered, are at the sole discretion of the Company and may be subject to separate terms and conditions.

Proof of Purchase

To use the Software, you need a valid purchase through an official sales channel operated by us.

We may ask you to show proof of purchase — like an invoice, license key, or confirmation email.

Unauthorized use or distribution is strictly prohibited.

Indemnification (aka “You’re responsible for how you use it”)

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Company, its officers, directors, and employees from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the Software, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another.

Ownership and Copyright

The Software and its core components — including the code, design, logos, and other creative elements — are owned by the Company or its licensors. Some parts of the Software may include third-party libraries or components, which remain subject to their respective licenses.

When you use the Software, you’re getting a license to use it, not ownership of it.

Please don’t copy, reverse-engineer, or reuse any part of the Software, including visual elements, libraries, or code, without explicit permission. Also, don't use the Software for anything illegal or that breaks any laws.

Changes to These Terms

When you buy the Software, you’re getting it under the terms that are current at that moment — simple as that.

If we later release updates or new versions, those might come with updated Terms. You’re not required to install them. But if you choose to, you’ll need to agree to the terms that come with that version.

We’ll always let you know about important changes before you decide to move forward with an update.

Legal Stuff

If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest will still apply and be fully valid.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without considering any conflicts of law principles.
